Day 1. Canada/Beijing
Depart Canada for Beijing and magical China.
Day 2. Beijing
Cross the International dateline; arrive into Beijing. Upon arrival you will be met and
transferred to your hotel.
Day 3. Beijing
A full day tour visits Tiananmen Square, the splendid Temple of Heaven, and the Forbidden
City, home to Ming and Quing Dynasty emperors. Stroll through the parkland of the
summer palace to end your day. (B,L,D)
Day 4. Beijing
Drive today to the Great Wall of China; 5000 km in length and one of the wonders of the
world (Badaling entrance includes a cable car ride). See the worldrenowned
Ming Tombs and gaze at the marble thrones and fabulous royal items that were
interred with the 13 emperors. (B,L,D)
Day 5. Beijing
Today experience Beijing’s old area with a tour of Hutong. This area is comprised of a maze of narrow lanes and alleys, so keep close to the tour guide. After lunch, experience a little peace and harmony at the Lama Temple. (B,L,D)
Day 6. Beijing/Xian
In the morning, transfer to airport for a morning flight to Xian. Upon arrival you will be met and transfered to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will take in a tour to the ancient city wall and Great Wild Goose pagoda. (B,L,D)
Day 7. Xian
A full day tour visits Hua Qing Hot Springs, formerly a royal resort, and Banpo Village, an evocative reconstruction of a Stone Age
community. Xian was once the eastern end of the famous silk road and known for its Terracotta Warriors; thousands of eerily–lifelike soldiers found standing guard around the emperor’s tomb. To end the day, enjoy a Dumpling dinner followed by a show. (B,L,D)
Day 8. Xian/Chongqing/Yangtze River Cruise
In the morning transfer from the hotel to the airport for a flight to Chongqing; upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Before boarding your regal cruise you will get a glimpse of the Chongqing way with a stop at the Stillwell Memorial Museum and Erlin Park. After dinner you will preboard the Victoria Cruise ship for the evening. (B,L,D)
Day 9-11. Yangtze River Cruise
A three day cruise of the Yangtze River, with daily shore excursions to visit enroute villages. Experience the majesty of the Three
Great Gorges: Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge, sculpted by the Yangtze, China’s longest river. (B,L,D)
Day 12. Yangtze River Cruise/Wuhan/Hangzhou
Say goodbye to the Yangtze River for a morning disembarkation into Wuhan. Upon arrival you will take in a famous tower called the
Yellow Crane Pavillion which is located on the southern banks of the Changjiang River. Then transfer to the airport for a flight to Hangzhou. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 13. Hangzhou
Today you will enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Hangzhou. This city is well known for it’s natural beauty and historical heritages. Your tour will include sites of the West Lake by cruise and a visit to the embellished Lingyin Temple. (B,L,D)
Day 14. Hangzhou/Suzhou
The day will start with a transfer by train to Suzhou. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The ancient city, rich in its natural and man resources, has been praised as “a paradise on earth.” To take in these resources you will tour the Silk
Reeling Factory, Embroidery Research Institute, Hamshan Temple and Master of Fish Nets Garden. (B,L,D)
Day 15.Suzhou/Shanghai
This day will start with another train ride to Shanghai, upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The afternoon will be full of sites of the Yu Garden, Jade Buddha and then end the night with an evening dinner followed by Acrobat Show. (B,L,D)
Day 16. Shanghai/Canada
Say goodbye to the Orient and depart Shanghai in the morning for flights home. (B)
