Day 1. Canada/Singapore
Depart Canada for the tropical island of Singapore via Vancouver.
Day 2. Singapore
Cross the international dateline; arrive in Singapore the next day. Upon arrival you will be
met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 3. Singapore
A morning tour showcases the gardens and parks that earned Singapore its nickname
“The Garden City”. Sights will be “little India”, Chinatown, the President’s Palace, Empress
Place in the heart of the colonial district, and the bustling waterfront. The final stop is the
renowned Royal Botanic Gardens, with its famous orchids. (B)
Day 4. Singapore
A free day to explore Singapore on your own. (B)
Day 5. Singapore/Kuala Lumpur
This morning transfer from the hotel to the airport for a flight to Kuala Lumpur. Upon
arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This evening you will visit the bustling
night market in Chinatown where you can try your skills in bargaining. Afterwards a delicious Malay dinner is served in a typical local restaurant followed by a traditional Cultural performance. (B,D)
Day 6. Kuala Lumpur
This morning you will spend the day in Kuala Lumpur by visiting the Jame Mosque, the War Memorial, the Federal Courts, the Railway Station and the King’s Palace. In the evening travel to Kuala Selangor Nature park for a visit to a typical Malaysian fishing town. After a delicious Chinese seafood dinner, you will board a small boat and travel upstream where you can see thousands of fireflies flickering in mangrove trees along the banks of the river. (B,D)
Day 7. Kuala Lumpur / Penang
In the morning transfer from the hotel to the airport for a flight to Georgetown, Penang. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the evening you ride through the streets of old Georgetown on a trishaw, taking in all the sights, smells and sounds of the inner city. You will end your tour at the seaside esplanade for an outdoor hawker dining experience. (B,D)
Day 8. Penang
Today’s tour consists of visiting a 100 year old local coffee making factory, the Sri Mahamariamman Temple built in 1833, the Indian Flour, and Spice Mill and Market. Lunch will be at a traditional banana leaf restaurant and then the afternoon spent free to explore. This evening, join in on a trip to Pasar Malam, an open-air night flea market where you take time to do some shopping. After, proceed to a specialty Northern Indian Cuisine restaurant housed in a rustic colonial building for some authentic Indian food. (B,L,D)
Day 9. Penang
Today you will experience the historical inner enclave of Georgetown, stopping at the Kuan Yin Temple, the Kapitan Kling Mosque, Cannon Square and the Khoo Kongsi Clan House. Lunch will be served at a century old Hainanese Chicken Rice shop of the Lim family. The balance of the day is free to explore. (B,L)
Day 10. Penang
This morning depart for a tour to the Campbell Street Market with Nyonya Lin See. The Campbell Street Market, built around 1900, greets every morning with fervor as traders and sellers bustle around in the early morning. This is a special tour as Nyonya Lin See will personally accompany you to the wet market explaining the sights, while purchasing all the necessary ingredients to cook a Nyonya lunch for you at her restaurant. The balance of day is free time. (B,L)
Day 11. Penang
Today take in the rest of the island with a Round Island Tour; visiting fishing villages and various fruit orchards. Lunch will be
served at a traditional Malay house, and then visit Kek Lok Si Temple and marvel at its imposing pagoda with 10,000 Buddha
images. The evening will end with the famous Gurney Drive along the coastline followed by a Chinese fondue dinner. (B,D,L)
Day 12. Penang/Langkawi Island
This morning transfer from your hotel to the airport for a flight to the Langkawi Island. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred
to your hotel. (B)
Day 13. Langkawi Island
To take in some of Langkawi’s history you will be visiting Mahsuri Tomb, where legend of a beautiful princess will be explained, a fishing village and the capital of Kuah. Then the afternoon is free to relax on the beach. (B)
Day 14-15. Langkawi Island
Two free days of exploring and relaxing on the beach. (B)
Day 16. Langkawi/Singapore
This day is free to relax and then in the evening you must say goodbye and transfer from the
hotel to the airport for a flight to Singapore. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. (B)
Day 17. Singapore/Canada
Say goodbye to the Orient and depart Singapore for flights home. (B)
